Bath

The Romans established a settlement they called Aquae Sulis in a town now called Bath. The reason was the presence of hot springs venerated by the Celts which made for the perfect Roman bath.

Over time the Roman settlement was built over with a medieval city. Portions of that city are visible. However, the vast majority of the city is now Georgian architecture. The locale in the 19th century was the place to be as a retreat, much like Las Vegas. A place to see and be seen.
